Common questions
Tile Flooring FAQs
Should I get porcelain or ceramic?
Porcelain for floors and wet areas (denser, harder, water-resistant). Ceramic is fine for walls and dry areas.
Will tile floors crack?
Not if substrate is prepped right. We use isolation membranes on concrete (essential in NJ basements) and re-flatten subfloors.
Is tile cold underfoot?
Yes — that is why most NJ tile floors today get electric radiant mats underneath. Adds $1,200–$3,000 and is the best money you will spend on the project.
